Grounded in compassion. Guided by curiosity.
Trauma counselling, EMDR and trauma-informed breathwork for people who have spent a long time surviving and want support that moves at their pace. You don’t need the right words, a clear timeline or a diagnosis to begin. We can start with what’s happening for you now and explore what you need, together.
Support shaped around you
Compassionate, evidence-based support to help you reconnect with yourself and manage symptoms from the past. Choose from Individual Counselling, EMDR Therapy, Breathwork sessions and Immersive Workshops.
1:1 Counselling
A steady, collaborative space to understand what is happening, strengthen safety and work with the experiences that continue to impact you.
Available in person and online.
EMDR therapy
A structured, evidence-based therapy that can help reduce the present-day impact of distressing memories. You do not have to describe every detail of what happened.
Trauma informed breathwork
Guided breathing practices offered with choice and consent. Breathwork may support connection, emotional awareness and regulation; it is never forced and is not suitable for everyone.
Workshops and retreats
Small-group experiences that bring together practical education, reflective practice and embodied support in thoughtfully chosen settings.
EMDR Intensives
Longer, focused sessions for people who would benefit from more time than a standard appointment allows.
Intensives include preparation, pacing, breaks and follow-up.
Hi, I’m Ali.
I’m a clinical social worker, trauma therapist, EMDR practitioner and breathwork facilitator. I work with adults and young people aged 16+ who are living with the impacts of trauma, attachment wounds, dissociation, anxiety, chronic stress and difficult life experiences.
My role is not to tell you what is wrong with you. It is to help you make sense of what you have lived through, understand the ways your system adapted, and find approaches that fit your needs, identity, body and pace.
A place for your whole self
The Embodiment Practice welcomes people of all cultures, bodies, genders, sexualities, neurotypes, faiths and family structures. Care is LGBTIQA+ affirming, gender affirming, neuro-affirming and disability aware.
You are welcome to tell me about access needs, communication preferences, pronouns, sensory needs, cultural considerations or anything else that may help therapy feel safer and more workable.
Journey into Embodiment
Follow @theembodimentpractice_ for gentle education, practice updates and upcoming offerings.
Social media is not therapy or a crisis contact, and direct messages are not monitored continuously.
Lets begin together.
You are welcome to ask questions before deciding whether to book. An enquiry is simply a chance to find out whether the practice, approach and current availability are a good fit.
I acknowledge the Dharawal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live and work, I recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I acknowledge all Traditional Custodians of Country throughout this continent, honouring their enduring sovereignty.
I pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
